LABORATORY OF MOLECULAR AND BEHAVIOURAL NEUROSCIENCE: Our lab sits on territory stolen from the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. They have resided on this land for thousands of years and we honour their stewardship. As uninvited guests of diverse heritage, we are grateful for our place here.

Lesson 2: Listen

For those of us who are non-First Nations, our job is to listen with open hearts and minds. Taking the time to just listen and learn from members of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm is important. I spent a long time watching the video interviews, suppressing my natural impulse to wander away and look at things. I learned so much.
